Determining the Best Data Processing Method for a Fruit Company

 For our final Marketing Analytics project, we built on our earlier comparison of real-time vs. batch data processing by creating a fun, Shrek-inspired scenario for “Fiona’s Fresh Fruits.” We split the class into two groups—one relying on real-time updates like Shrek, and the other using batch processing like Donkey—and had them analyze fruit sales data on the fly. This playful exercise illustrated how real-time analytics can react quickly to sudden changes, while batch processing offers a more comprehensive, historical view. Ultimately, we showed that both approaches have their place, and successful companies often combine them to make informed, data-driven decisions.
